DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - The 1-1 Bulldogs were back on the practice field Tuesday, preparing for their second home game of the season against Upper Iowa Peacocks.

It was a disappointing performance by the Bulldogs Saturday in Mankato. The offense only was able to muster up 10 points but the mood at Tuesday’s practice was positive.

The talk surrounding the team Tuesday was about turning the page and using a good week of practice to get back on track in hopes of leaving Saturday night’s game over five hundred.

“Yeah absolutely, there are just areas we got to clean up, we got to finish drives we have to capitalize on the momentum we have, finish the drive and make sure it end’s up in the endzone,” said offensive line captain Brent Laing.

“We can’t fumble either with penalties or on the line with combos to the linebackers we just have to be clean all the way until we make it to the endzone,” Lang added.

As for head coach Curt Wiese, he acknowledged the areas his team came up short last Saturday, but was optimistic and looking forward to a good week of practice.

“Our guys understood the process and what we were supposed to do, we just couldn’t capitalize on big plays on the offensive side. The takeaway is we’ve got a good football team we’ve got a good group coming back, this is a great week for us to be able to bounce back with Military Appreciation, understanding what’s on the line for us from here on out, one week at a time and understand we’ll have good energy in the stadium and need to turn the page,” said Wiese.

Saturday’s kickoff against Upper Iowa will also be Military Appreciation night.

Kickoff is at 6:00 p.m. from Malosky stadium.
