Thomas and Friends chugging into Duluth next weekend
DULUTH, MN -- The iconic steam engine is chugging straight into Duluth next weekend.
Thomas the Tank Engine arrives at the North Shore Scenic Railroad on August 5th for two weekends of train rides, music, food and more.
The festival will open each morning at 8:00 A.M. and the first ride is at 9:00 A.M. Trains leave every hour until 4:00 in the afternoon. The event will be here August 5th through 7th and the 12th through 14th.
The annual Thomas and Friends celebration is a huge revenue booster for the Twin Ports, generating $3.5 million.
“With Thomas the Tank you get a lot of new people who might not think of coming to a museum, but they would think of bringing their children or grandchildren to see him,” said Ken Buehler, the Executive Director of the Lake Superior Railroad Museum.
Additionally, festival organizers say they work to make the event a safe space for every Thomas fan.
On Thursday, August 11th, there is a special Sensory Friendly Day Out With Thomas.
Tickets are $22 per person and that gets you access to all activities at ‘Day Out With Thomas’.
