CLOQUET, MN. (KBJR) - Friday was graduation day for some students at Fond Du Lac Tribal and Community College.

15 students earned their Law Enforcement Professional Skills Training Diplomas.

Several awards were also presented to students recognizing leadership and perseverance.

According to program coordinators, the skills these students acquire during their education can often make them extremely employable in the field of law enforcement.

They’ve said it’s an industry that desperately needs workers.

“This is a very difficult time as far as really finding people to take on this career as a professional peace officer,” said Joel Olejnicak, a program coordinator for Fond Du Lac Tribal and Community College.

The program will welcome a new coordinator later this year to help train students, Duluth Police Chief Mike Tusken.
