DULUTH, MN. (KBJR6) - For the first time in school history, the moose lake-willow river softball team is headed to the state tournament.

With this historic accomplishment, the Moose Lake-Willow River community is looking to send the girls to state the way they deserve, in style.

“Parade through the town and all that kind of stuff, they’ve even talked about getting fan busses if they get enough people interested,” head coach Kelly Goeb said.

“I was pretty honored when I looked at my phone and we were done playing and got back on the bus heading to get something to eat and there were lots of messages and a couple of them were like, ‘hey do you want us to raise some money to get you guys on a coach bus instead of a school bus like you always do?’ So that was pretty cool to see that,” she added.

The Moose Lake-Willow River Area chamber of commerce will be collecting donations for this at their office or here. If you use this link in the description box, please write MLWR softball.

To donate by check, write MLWR softball and drop it off at the Chamber office or mail it to P.O. BOX 110, Moose Lake, MN 55767.
