DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - For the first time in over a decade, the Superior Spartans have collected a playoff baseball win.

The Spartans outlasted Chippewa Falls 10-7 on a windy day at NBC Sports Complex. Mason Stenberg lead the way for the Spartans with six RBIs, including a go-ahead grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning.

It was a much-needed rally after the Cardinals had scored five runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 6-3 lead. Superior batted for the cycle in the bottom half of the inning, and pulled away for the win.

Up next, they’ll travel to Stevens Point in the D1 regional finals. For the full WIAA playoff bracket, click here.
