TONIGHT: As the occluded system that brought the severe weather earlier in the week finally moves away to the northeast, clear skies will continue, but winds will continue to be breezy from the west-northwest. Winds will be between 5-15 mph gusting up to 25 mph. Temperatures will fall to the upper 40s and lower 50s with mostly clear skies. It’ll be perfect weather to continue to enjoy the outdoors whether its fishing or camping.

SUNDAY: The rest of the weekend doesn’t look to change too much with more mostly sunny skies. There is a very small chance for an isolated shower to develop during the late afternoon hours, but it’s very unlikely. Temperatures will be slightly cooler but still very comfortable in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Winds will continue to be from the west-northwest between 10-15 mph gusting up to 30 mph. High pressure from the southern Plains will keep the Northland dry for several days to come, but there is a threat of wildfires. Because of dry air moving and breezy west-northwest winds, northern Wisconsin and parts of Minnesota including Duluth are near wildfire levels on Sunday. It won’t take much for a simple fire to get out of control especially for folks who are camping. Be vigilant!

MONDAY: The mostly sunny skies will continue into the new week thanks to high pressure from the south and north. Temperatures will be on the cooler side, but still very comfortable in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Winds will continue to be breezy from the northwest between 10-15 mph gusting up to 30 mph. Our next shot of showers and storms will come on Thursday with the possible threat of severe weather. More details to come as we approach next Thursday.
