DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) -- Extra hands are wanted to help make thousands of authentic Italian meatballs.

The Italian American Club is hosting its annual Spaghetti Dinner in Duluth Wednesday.

This week, club members are prepping 3,000 real Italian meatballs for the feast.

They’re also putting together Old World Italian recipes for a special secret sauce.

Jim Carroll, a long-time member of the Italian American Club said, “We put our own spices in it. We’ve been doing it the same way for years, probably for 25 years. Nobody knows the secret to our sauce and we cannot tell you.”

Proceeds from the event go back to the club.

If you’d like to help prep food you can join members at the American Legion in Duluth from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The Spaghetti Dinner is Wednesday, May 11 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the American Legion located at 5814 Grand Ave.

Costs include $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Take-out dinners are available.

There will also be raffle prizes during the dinner.
