UPDATE: Section of Hwy. 2 near Ashland now reopen

ASHLAND, WI -- Ashland police and the county highway department say Highway 2 between State Highway 112 and State Highway 13 North has been reopened.

They notified us Tuesday evening saying visibility and road conditions had improved.

They recommend driving with caution.

This is in the town of Eileen.

ASHLAND, WI -- The Ashland County Sheriff’s Department has deemed Highway 2 from Wisconsin Highway 137 to the City of Ashland impassable.

All lanes on the section of highway are closed as of Tuesday morning.

The highway will be plowed by crews “for emergency situations only.”

According to WisDOT, roadways and exit ramps on the section of highway are likely to covered by ice and snow.

Travel is strongly discouraged.
