DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - A former Northland state lawmaker and a dog mushing great, has died.

Frank Moe lost his battle with brain cancer.

He represented the Beltrami, Cass and Itasca County areas in the Minnesota House.

He was also known as an avid sled dog racer.

According to his Facebook page, Moe made the decision to stop his cancer treatment on Saturday, January 8, he then started hospice care.

In a post on January 10, it read, “We are extremely thankful that he is able to tell us what he wants and to make this choice for himself.”

Frank Moe died Wednesday, January 12, 2022, with his wife Sherri by his side in the Twin Cities.

He was 56 years old.
