Blood donors needed: Find a blood drive near you

DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - The need for blood is driving a local nonprofit to do what it takes to get people to donate.

With that, Memorial Blood Centers will hold numerous drives starting Thursday and running until the end of the month.

Blood donation eligibility:

• In good health

• 17 years or older— or 16 with written parental consent (PDF available on MBC.ORG)

• At least 110 pounds

• Free of antibiotics for 24 hours, unless taken for preventative reasons

• Symptom-free for at least 72 hours following a cold or flu

01/13/22 Mesabi East High School 9 am - 3:30 pm

01/14/22 St. Louis County Courthouse 8 am - 3:30 pm

01/17/22 Knights of Columbus/St. Lawrence Church 12 am - 8 pm

01/18/22 Grace Bible Chapel Grand Rapids 12:30 pm - 5:30 pm

01/19/22 Silver Bay High School 1 pm - 5 pm

01/20/22 Grand Marais 9 am - 4:30 pm

01/21/22 Arrowhead EMS Conference 9:30 am - 4 pm

01/22/22 Arrowhead EMS Conference 9:30 am - 3 pm

01/24/22 Moose Lake Community 11 am - 5 pm

01/25/22 Hayward Area 10 am - 5 pm

01/26/22 Aurora Community Center 10 am - 4 pm

01/27/22 Tower Fortune Bay Casino 10 am - 1 pm

01/28/22 Hermantown High School 7:30 am - 2:30 pm

01/31/22 Ashland High School 9 am - 4 pm

All presenting donors from January 9 - 31, 2022 will receive two free basketball game tickets.

Memorial Blood Centers help supply nearly 40 local hospitals and more than a dozen air ambulance bases.

Donors are required to wear a face mask or face covering.
