DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - It’s hard to believe, but this is the last week of 2021, and what a year it has been.

If you are looking to ring in the new year with some live theater, look no further than Rubber Chicken Theater in Duluth.

Brian Matuszak, the executive producer of Rubber Chicken Theater, joined KBJR 6 Today in studio Tuesday to talk about their performance “New Year’s Cluckin’ Eve.”

He said the New Year’s Eve show incorporates both old and new sketches.

“We’ve got some live musical performances,” Matuszak said. “We’ve got some prize giveaways. We’ve got some local celebrity video cameos that are going to be a lot of fun, and it’s just going to be a very fun way to ring out the year.”

He describes it as a local version of Saturday Night Live.

“You see things that you have seen in the news; things that you have talked about here on the show,” Matuszak said. “We just have a little bit of fun with it in some originally written and originally performed sketches.”

Rubber Chicken Theater’s New Year’s Eve performance is on Friday, December 31, at 7:30 p.m.

“It’s just amazing to me, and I think to the audiences, to sit back and look at the talent that this community has and continues to have,” Matuszak said.

They will be performing at Fitger’s Spirit of the North Theater in Duluth.

Tickets are $20 per person.
