Spooner Middle School students to rotate in-person, at-home learning, building remains closed
SPOONER, WI-- Spooner Middle School students now have a new schedule for in-person learning.
According to district officials, a schedule has been developed to provide in-person learning for students in each grade level on a rotating schedule.
In-person learning will now take place at the Spooner Civic Center. Buses will continue to transport kids.
Students will continue learning remotely when their grade is not scheduled for in-person learning.
The temporary schedule will begin on Monday, December 13.
District leaders anticipate the schedule will remain in place until the start of Winter Break on December 23.
Families will receive information about the temporary schedule along with logistical details on Friday.
The Spooner Middle School was closed down last month due to an “epoxy-like” odor that caused 36 students and 24 staff members to require medical treatment.

The entire school was evacuated and students have been learning from home since the school closed on November 10.
In an update Friday, the district said results of environmental testing conducted by three separate environmental health and safety companies as well as agency reports have been received. At this time the results of that testing have not been released.
They said some additional investigation is needed before they can be assured that the building can safely be reopened for students and staff members.
The building remains closed by order of the Spooner Fire Department.
