1 dead, 2 injured in single-car crash near Eveleth
EVELETH, MN. (KBJR) -- UPDATE: One person died in a car crash Monday on Highway 53 south of Eveleth.
It happened around 4 p.m. Monday at Highway 53 and Anchor Lake Road.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the car was driving northbound on Highway 53 when it lost control on the icy road and crossed the median into the southbound lane.
Stanley Erkkila, 75, of Eveleth died.
Two others have non-life-threatening injuries.
The state patrol reports snowy and icy road conditions at the time of the crash.
