Thanksgiving volunteers help feed Twin Ports community members in need
DULUTH, MN -- Volunteers were hard at work Thursday making sure no Twin Ports family went hungry this Thanksgiving.
For the second year in a row, the pandemic forced organizers to cancel the big Thanksgiving dinner at the DECC.
So, once again, volunteers packed up meal boxes delivering some to people’s doors and handing out others at several locations around Duluth.
One volunteer delivery driver says it was even more important for him to give back this year.
“There are lots of people in need, and it’s easy to get wrapped up into the other things around the holidays so a good reminder of these things is taking care of the community in this fashion,” Tony Rossi, a UPS driver who volunteered his time Thursday, said. “I’m hopeful we can get rid of all these meals and everybody can have a good Thanksgiving.”
The College of Saint Scholastica helps make this event possible every year.
