DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - TONIGHT: Tonight, is going to be cold with temperatures falling to the single digits with a few towns hitting the negatives. The wind chills will be closer to negatives for the whole Northland so bundle up if you are planning to go black Friday shopping during the early morning hours. With the clear skies, temperatures will have an easier time cooling down quickly and with the northwest winds, wind chills will be even colder. Fortunately, winds look to remain calm from the northwest. By about three o’clock in the morning, clouds will increase becoming mostly cloudy by sunrise.

FRIDAY: For Black Friday shoppers, it will be overcast with a chance for a few flurries during the morning hours across the Iron Range and Arrowhead. The temperatures will continue to be frigid cold in the single digits during the morning hours and only warming up to the mid to upper 20s for highs. Winds will change to the south as a warm front develops to the southwest of the Northland. The overcast conditions will continue into the evening hours with temperatures only falling to the lower 20s for lows due to the clouds trapping the heat at the surface.

SATURDAY: The system associated with the warm front will develop across Minnesota passing just to the south of the Northland by Saturday afternoon. Chance of snow is likely for all of the Northland for Saturday during the morning hours. Snow accumulation once again looks to be minimal with 1 to 2 inches possible stretching from Bemidji to the Twin Ports down into Wisconsin. Also, lake effect snow is possible for the Ironwood region Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning. An additional inch of snow is possible for the south shore by Sunday. Temperatures will reach around freezing on Saturday with winds changing back to the northwest.
