Rivals UMD and North Dakota split series

DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - The Bulldogs were on a weekend business trip for a top ten match-up in good ‘ole North Dakota where they handed their rival Hawks their first conference loss Friday night. While this rivalry runs 70 years deep and both coaches’ roots are in the Ralph, who would come out as the top dogs Saturday night?!

After a scoreless first period, the Dogs looking for a breakthrough, and it’s the sophomore from Hermantown who strikes. Blake Biondi feeds his pack with the night’s first score to put the Dogs on top, 1-0.

North Dakota ties it all up 1-1 with five seconds to spare in the second period. The Hawks soar out of the Ralph winning the split, 2-1 the final.
