One displaced, no injuries following Esko apartment fire

ESKO, MN (KBJR 6) -- One tenant is displaced after a Sunday afternoon apartment fire in Esko.

It happened just after 3:00 P.M. off of Highway 61 in Esko, Minnesota.

According to a Sunday press release, when fire crews arrived they found light smoke with no visible flames.

Firefighters entered the building and found fire in the front apartment and were able to quickly extinguish it.

The tenant confirmed no one was home and there were no pets inside at the time of the fire.

The apartment has significant fire and smoke damage and the Red Cross was contacted to assist the tenant with being displaced by the fire.

The Esko Fire Department was assisted by Carlton, Wrenshall, Solway Fire Departments along with the Cloquet Area Fire District.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
