Bulldogs prepare for first NCAA Tournament since 2018
DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - For the first time since 2018, the UMD football team has qualified for the NCCA DII national tournament.
The bulldogs will be the seven seed in super region four and will travel to Texas this weekend to take on the two seed, Angelo State.
“I mean a game is a game,” said Cazz Martin.
“Of course the temperature, I like the warm better than the cold, but football is football. No matter what they do, if we do what we do best, and they can’t stop it, what more is left to do?” martin continued
UMD is one of three NSIC teams to make it to the big dance, including Bemidji State and Augustana.
“I think that’s one of the toughest things to tell when you watch the film is how good our conference is, as opposed to how good another conference is that you may face in the national playoffs,” Head Coach Curt Wiese said.
“That’s the neat part about playing in the national playoffs, is we’re going to find out how good the NSIC is,” Wiese added.
Kickoff from San Angelo Texas is at 1pm.
