Bulldog women fall short against #2 Drury, men cruise past Northland College

DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - The UMD women’s basketball team came up just short in their season opener, 65-58 against Drury.

The 18th ranked Bulldogs went back and forth with the second-ranked Panthers for the majority of the game, until a late run decided the game. UMD’s Brooke Olson lead the game in scoring with 18. Reigning WBCA division two player of the year Paige Robinson had 17 for Drury.

The UMD men’s basketball team cruised past division three Northland College, 123-48 to improve to 3-0. It was the largest margin of victory for the Bulldogs in program history.
