According to crews on scene, the fire spread from a structure to trees and other structures on the property.(KBJR)

5 P.M. UPDATE: Crews continue to battle a fire at a structure in rural St. Louis County Wednesday.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s office, when their deputies arrived on scene the residence an out building were fully engulfed in flames.

They say the homeowner was not home at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation through The State Fire Marshal’s office.

FORBES, MN. (KBJR) - Several Northland fire departments are on scene battling a structure fire at a residence in rural St. Louis County.

It broke out around 2 p.m. on Bawden Road in Forbes, which is south of Virginia, MN.

According to crews on scene, the fire spread from a structure to trees and other structures on the property.

Our KBJR 6 crew on the scene says smoke is heavy in the area, and there are still visible flames.

Fire crews are still working to extinguish the fire.

No word on how the fire started or if anyone has been injured.
