DULUTH, MN. (KBJR 6) - Northland health care providers are sharing their plans to start vaccinating kids 5-11 years old against COVID-19.

Below are some options for parents who are looking to set up appointments.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY

St. Louis County Public Health will hold vaccine clinics for children and families beginning later this month.

They will offer first doses on Saturdays, November 13 and 20; and second doses on December 4 and 11.

On each of those dates, these clinics will be held at the First United Methodist (Coppertop) Church in Duluth from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Another clinic will be held at the Eveleth Auditorium from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Pfizer vaccines for children ages 5-11 also will be offered at other St. Louis County Public Health clinics beginning the week of November 15.

A parent or guardian must accompany the child to the clinic to sign a consent to be vaccinated form.

ESSENTIA HEALTH

Essentia Health spokespeople say appointments are required for 5-11-year-olds.

You can be made with the child’s primary care provider or pediatrician.

Patients can schedule through Essentia’s MyChart patient portal or by calling (833) 494-0836.

Essentia spokespeople say appointment availability will depend on the number of doses at each individual location.

ST. LUKE’S

Parents can now schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments at St. Luke’s for their kids between the ages of 5 to 11 years old.

Appointments are available at the St. Luke’s COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic starting on Tuesday, November 9.

You can schedule an appointment by visiting St. Luke’s myCare patient portal or by calling 218-249-4200.

DULUTH SCHOOL DISTRICT

Duluth Public Schools are partnering with the state of Minnesota to offer COVID-19 vaccine clinics for 5-11 year olds starting Thursday.

Families will receive sign up information from their elementary or middle schools. Appointments and walk-ins are both accepted.

A parent or guardian must provide written permission and must be present during the vaccinations.

The clinics are intended for students ages 5 to 11 only.
