Duluth City leaders better inform residents on snow emergency rules
DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) -The City of Duluth is spending this week preparing residents for the next big snowstorm to come our way.
The City is getting ready to mail out nearly 46,000 new brochures showing residents what to expect when Duluth’s first Snow Emergency is declared this winter.
Duluth did not have a snow emergency program before but recently created one to make snow removal a more organized process.
Duluth’s Parking Services Manager Mark Bauer said the snow emergency routes are vital to clear when the flakes fly.
“Tows can occur if you don’t pull your cars off those routes. Our goal is to tow as few cars as possible along the routes, so we are asking the public to help get this done and help keep those streets clean,” said Bauer.
The new brochure will include information about when and where to move your car whenever a snow emergency is declared.
Brochures will be sent out by mail to those living in the impacted zones.
