The Duluth City Council swore in its newest member this afternoon.
Arik Forsman officially became the newest councilor at a ceremony Thursday afternoon at the Mayor's Reception Room at City Hall.
Last month, Forsman was chosen to fill the council's open spot, which was vacated by former council president Elissa Hansen.
On Thursday, he celebrated the ceremony with family, friends and new colleagues
Forsman's term expires in January of 2020.
