Discounts, freebies offered for Minnesota State Fair

Deals will be available for anyone looking to save money when headed to the Minnesota State Fair this year. 

Pre-fair discount admission tickets will be available for $11, three dollars off the regular adult admission price ($14), and one dollar off the regular seniors and kids admission prices ($12). 

Those tickets are valid for any day of the fair.

In addition, Mighty Midway and Kidway ride and game tickets are $15 for a sheet of 25, which is ten dollars off the normal price. 

The discount state fair and Midway and Kidway tickets are available through August 22nd at the Ticket Office off Como Avenue, the Minneapolis visitor Information, and participating Cub Food locations while supplies last.

Tickets can also be purchased by clicking here, and are available until 9 p.m. on August 22nd. 

There will also be special deal days, including "Thrifty Thursday" on August 23rd, where tickets for adults will be $12, and nine dollars for kids. 

On August 27th, Seniors and Kids Day will be admitted for nine dollars.  

Military Appreciation Day will be on Tuesday, August 28th.  Active military members and their families, as well as retired and veteran military and their spouses, are admitted for nine dollars, with proof of U.S. military service. 

On August 29th, guests presenting valid public library cards will be admitted for a discounted price for Read & Ride Day.  

There will only be one discount per card. 

Adults will enter for $12, and seniors and kids will be nine dollars. 

Seniors Day will be on Thursday, August 30th, with seniors being able to enter for nine dollars. 

Kids will also be able to enter for nine dollars on Labor Day. 

Many vendors will also have special day deals, and participants will have signs displayed. 

The Blue Ribbon Bargain Book will also be offering 150 coupons for food, merchandise, and attractions around the fairgrounds, and are available for five dollars at the State Fair ticket office, Minneapolis Visitor Information, participating Cub locations, and other locations while supplies last.

In addition, fair officials say there will be free Park & Ride service from 34 different Twin Cities metro locations. 

Uper & Lyft will have two designated drop-off and pick-up areas, and trolley rides will also be free on the north end of the fairgrounds. 

A free ADA-accessible trolley run along Randall Avenue will also be available, and runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
