Hundreds of educators across the Northland got hands-on training in Duluth on Tuesday.
The College of Saint Scholastica held its 8th annual 21st Century Teaching and Learning Conference.
Around 200 teachers and educators took part in the event, which covered everything from best practices in teaching, learning, and leading to networking opportunities.
Paul Gorski is the founder of the Equity and Literacy Institute and served as the keynote speaker.
He talked about the importance of poverty and equity issues in education.
"Well it's an important topic because, in the United States, we have, the value of free education accessible to all students and unfortunately we are not living up to that expectation," Gorski said.
The college was also promoting their Online Master of Education program during today's event.
