Twin Ports transportation is under new leadership.
After three days on the job, the Duluth Transit Authority introduced their new general manager, Phil Pumphrey. Pumphrey says he's happy to come to Duluth at a time where they're starting several new strategies.
This includes the recent addition of the Duluth transportation center and the DTA's incoming seven new electric buses.
At this point, Pumphrey says he's still introducing himself to city leaders and getting to know his staff, but he says he's hoping for more innovation as he takes the wheel.
"I'd like to work on increasing ridership as always, trying to implement technology where appropriate that makes improvements to our customers and to the community," Pumphrey said.
Pumphrey started his career as a driver himself and most recently served as the Director of Public transportation in Pasco County, Florida.
