Getting away from it all just got a little more difficult.
T-Mobile 4-G users will now have to turn their phones off if they don't want to be disturbed in the Grand Portage area.
The provider, which is based out of a Cook County owned and managed tower, is on Grand Portage-owned land.
The land is leased to Cook County for communication tower purposes.
It's expected to be comparable to the existing AT&T coverage, however it will be supplemented from the Hovland tower in the Reservation River area.
Verizon is in the process of two other projects, with locations in both Hovland and Grand Portage.
Those projects may also go live later this year.
