Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has ordered all U.S. and Wisconsin state flags be flown at half-staff on Saturday from sunrise to sunset as a symbol of honor and respect for Master Sergeant Jonathan Dunbar.
Sergeant Dunbar was an International Falls native, and was one of two military officers killed in Syria on March 30th.
Sergeant Dunbar is also the son of Linda Blanchard, who is a member of the Bad River Reservation in Wisconsin.
Governor Walker's executive order states a traditional Ojibwe memorial ceremony will be held for Sergeant Dunbar in Odanah on Saturday as well.
Master Sergeant Jonathan Dunbar was 36-years-old, and leaves behind three children and a pregnant wife.
