Snow to taper off Monday, lake effect likely for U.P.

Posted: Updated:
DULUTH, MN -

There will be some lingering light snow showers through the early morning hours, then we will see the snow diminish from west to east late Monday morning. However, with winds still out of the NNW 10-20mph, folks in Iron and Gogebic counties will still see some lake effect snow through the day. An additional 3-6" will be possible with the higher amounts mostly in the U.P.

The rest of us will see mostly cloudy skies and temperatures climbing into the mid to lower 30's! So, we'll see roads clearing up quite a bit this afternoon with the warmer temperatures.

Tonight, we will see temperatures dip back into the teens and 20's, which could create some icy spots on hard surfaces that haven't been treated with salt. Expect skies to become partly cloudy with winds out of the NNW 10-15mph.
