Duluth East senior defenseman Luke LaMaster has been named the 2018 recipient of the Reed Larson Award, it was announced on Wednesday night.
The award, which is in its sixth year, is given annually to the top senior defenseman in Minnesota. LaMaster is the third straight Northland native to win, following Hermantown's Dylan Samberg and Wyatt Aamodt.
LaMaster has verbally committed to Wisconsin and this season has totaled four goals and 39 assists, helping Duluth East to the Section 7AA championship and its first state tournament in three seasons.
Duluth Marshall senior defenseman Willy Stauber was also a finalist for this year's award.
