An 11-year old girl was taken in custody after allegedly making a "potential threat of violence" referencing Cloquet High School and Middle School.
According to Cloquet Police, authorities were made aware of the incident Tuesday night. Commander Derek Randall said his department immediately began investigating the incident. About a half hour later, Randall said they located the female.
She has been lodged at the Arrowhead Juvenile Center on a charge of "Threats of Violence." Officers seized an Airsoft pistol from the girl's home during the arrest. Police did not say what exactly the alleged threats entailed or how legitimate they were.
"The Cloquet Police Department is working closely with the Cloquet School District officials to ensure our schools remain a safe environment and one that is conducive to productive teaching and learning," Randall wrote.
Randall added that the Cloquet Police Department takes all threats seriously and will continue to maintain a presence in our schools and work with our partners to ensure perpetrators are dealt with accordingly.
