The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team moved down one spot to No. 8 in this week's United States College Hockey Online (USCHO) Division I poll, which was released on Monday morning.
That comes after a small hiccup on Friday night, a 4-1 loss to Nebraska-Omaha in the front end of what ended as a weekend split in the teams' regular season finale. UMD rebounded on Saturday night with a 4-1 win and is now (5-1-0) in its last six games.
UMD is one of five teams from the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) included in the poll, with three of those in the top 10. Full results of this week's poll can be seen here.
The NCHC playoffs start this weekend with best-of-three quarterfinal series, and UMD will be hosting Western Michigan. Games Friday and Saturday will both start at 7:07 p.m. and air on KBJR 6, while Sunday's game, if necessary, will start at 7:07 p.m. and air on My 9 Sports.
