Two third period goals lifted the Eau Claire North Co-op team to victory in the 2018 WIAA Girls State Hockey Championship game over Sun Prairie.

After a slow start to the first period, with only a couple of shots on goal for both teams, a flurry of activity in a couple of minutes energized fans of each team.

It started with a score by Ava Kison for the Stars at the 10:41 mark.

Three minutes later, Sun Prairie's Amanda Bauer was called for a hook. Despite being short-handed, Zephryn Jager brought the puck the length of the ice on a breakaway and beat goalie Naomi Stow to tie the game at one apiece.

The second period ended with the score still tied at 1.

The Stars controlled the third period with the team finding the net twice. Abigail Stow broke the tie with a goal at the 5:37 mark. Then at 11:30, Stow got an assist to Ava Kison who got her second goal of the game.

The final 3-1 Eau Claire North Co-op.

Eau Claire finishes the season with a 26-3 record. Sun Prairie ends their season with a 21-7-1 record.
