Johnson scores Saints' lone goal, suffer overtime loss in NCHA semifinals

The College of St. Scholastica (CSS) women's hockey team senior Mac Johnson's goal in the second period kept the game tied in regulation, but Lake Forest came out victorious in overtime 2-1 in the NCHA semifinals on Friday.

Johnson scored the Saints' lone goal on a powerplay 8:27 into the second period to tie the game up 1-1.

A scoreless third period brought the game into overtime where the Foresters' Olivia Spellmire scored 8 minutes unassisted for the win.

Lake Forest led 41-30 in shots on goal.

Saints' goaltender Lori Huseby made 39 stops in the loss.

CSS finishes the season (16-7-5) overall.
