UPDATE: CO poisoning ruled cause of death after body found during Eel Pout Festival

WALKER, MN -

(3/7/2018) -- Authorities have determined the cause of death for 21-year-old Samuel Schooley, from Bemidji.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the death an accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.

Schooley was identified earlier this week as the person who died after being found unresponsive in a Leech Lake fish house in late February.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office says the man is 21-year-old Samuel Schooley, from Bemidji.

An autopsy is pending.

The death remains under investigation.

(3/1/2018) -- An investigation is underway on Leech Lake after a man's death over the weekend during the Eelpout Festival.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office says the 21-year-old Bemidji man was found unresponsive in a fish house Sunday morning.

He was taken to a Park Rapids hospital where he died.

His name has not been released.

An autopsy is pending.

The death remains under investigation.
