UPDATE: Cloquet stabbing suspect in custody

CLOQUET, MN -

(3/2/2018) -- Cloquet Police say they've arrested the man they believe is responsible for a stabbing that sent one man to the hospital.

25-year-old Stephen Smith is in custody Friday - two days after urging the public to help locate him.

Officers were sent to the Washington Avenue Laundromat Monday for a report of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found a man bleeding from his torso and abdomen.

He was eventually taken to a Duluth hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect and victim allegedly got into a dispute, which led to the victim being stabbed multiple times.

Police are asking for your help in finding a Cloquet man after he allegedly stabbed another man at a Cloquet laundromat.

According to police, officers were sent to the Washington Avenue Laundromat on Monday afternoon for a report of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found a man bleeding from his torso and abdomen.

He was eventually taken to a Duluth hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect and victim got into a dispute, which led to the victim being stabbed multiple times.

The suspect has been identified as Stephen Smith, 25, who is believed to be from Cloquet.

Police say this was not random, and don't believe the public is in danger at this time.
