As the warm temperatures linger around the Northland, the Minnesota DNR is reminding anglers about upcoming deadlines for removing ice fishing shelters.
For structures in the Northern part of the state, the deadline is the end of the day on March 19th.
Structures in the southern half of the state must be off lakes, by the end of the day March fifth.
Officials also remind people to pick up any trash around the lake to keep the lakes clean.
If shelters are not removed by deadline, owners will be prosecuted, and structures may be confiscated and removed or destroyed by a conservation officer.
