Lyle's hat trick leads Duluth East to rout of crosstown rival, into Section 7AA final
DULUTH, MN -
Ricky Lyle scored a hat trick on Monday night, leading the Duluth East boys' hockey team to a 9-1 win over crosstown rival Duluth Marshall in the Section 7AA semifinals at AMSOIL Arena.
Two of Lyle's goals came in a four-goal first period for the Greyhounds, and his hat trick was completed in the opening minute of the second period.
Garrett Worth added two goals in the winning effort, while Logan Anderson had a goal and three assists. Parker Kleive made 11 saves to earn the win between the pipes.
Levi Stauber scored the lone goal in the game for the Hilltoppers.
Duluth East now advances to the Section 7AA championship game against either Andover, which beat Elk River 6-5 in overtime of the other semifinal. That game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Thursday at AMSOIL Arena.
