The UW-Superior women's basketball team had already played its way into a third straight NCAA Division III tournament, so the conversation following Monday's selection show was on a different topic.

UW-Superior won an automatic bid this past Saturday with its third straight Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) tournament title, beating Bethany Lutheran 66-54. It'll be the team's third straight trip to the national tournament, something no other UMAC team has ever done.

"We want to make history," Superior, Wis. native and senior guard Hailey Kontny said. "This is where it starts, this week of practice and this weekend. At least win one in the NCAA tournament, but I'm hoping for more."
UW-Superior has drawn UW-Whitewater as a first-round opponent, with that game scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start on Friday in Whitewater, Wis.
