Dozens of family, friends and fans welcomed home Team Shuster Monday at the Duluth International Airport.
The team was hot off their big Olympic win in South Korea on Saturday.
"We saw the buildup, after a slow start, we thought well this could happen, this could happen anytime." said Jackie Shuster, John Shuster's mother, who saw the curling match in person.
The flight carrying the team, along with several members of the Women's Curling Team, arrived at the Duluth Airport at 5:43 p.m. The team walked through the doors to a large crowd just before 6 p.m.
The team was met with hugs, kisses and USA chants.
Shuster's family surprised him at the Minneapolis St. Paul Airport earlier Monday where their plane had a layover, then traveled north to Duluth.
"This is an awesome turnout. It's great to have community support," said Sarah Shuster, John's wife.
