UPDATE: Train vs. pedestrian victim believed to be a 44-year-old Saginaw woman

CULVER, MN -

(UPDATE 2/26/18, 4 p.m.) -- Authorities say a 44-year-old Saginaw woman is believed to be the victim of a fatal train vs. pedestrian crash.

The crash happened just after 11 a.m. on Monday near the intersection of Highway 8 and Highway 7 in Culver Township.

Authorities say a CN railroad train hit the woman, who died at the scene.

An autopsy will be done by the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office in order to identify the victim.


(UPDATE 2/26/18) -- One woman is dead after a train versus pedestrian crash in St. Louis County.

The crash happened around 11 a.m. on Monday near the intersection of Highway 8 and Highway 7 in Culver Township.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff's office, the woman was walking along the tracks when she was hit. 

Authorities say an autopsy will be done in order to identify the victim. 

Traffic was blocked for a short period of time on Highway 8 while investigators worked to clear the scene. 


Traffic is being blocked by a train on Highway 8 near Culver after hitting a pedestrian.

The incident happened shortly after 11 a.m. Monday, according to authorities.

As of early Monday afternoon, law enforcement were still on the scene. 

There was no immediate word on any injuries.
