Following a one-goal first period, No. 2 seed Breck scored five more unanswered goals to defeat Proctor-Hermantown 6-0 in the MSHSL Class A girls' hockey semifinals on Friday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.
Proctor-Hermantown entered its fourth state tournament unseeded, and went on to upset No. 3 seed Red Wing 3-1 in the quarterfinals. The Mirage led 26-24 in shots on goal in that game, but only mustered nine shots two days later in its loss to Breck.
Emily Zumwinkle led the Mustangs with two goals and an assist, while Olivia Mobley scored a goal and had two assists. Ryan Gray made 29 saves for Proctor-Hermantown in the loss.
The Mirage is now (17-13-0) on the season and will play in the Class A third place game tomorrow at 9 a.m.
