The United States men's curling team put up a solid effort and upset one of the top teams in the 2018 Winter Olympics, taking down Canada in the round robin tournament early Monday morning.
With a 9-7 win, the team has improved its record to 3-4 at the Olympics, and stayed in the hunt for a semifinal spot.
"Well, we are still alive. We are still in the tournament, so it's pretty big. You know, we were not where we were supposed to be at 2 and 4, but we knew that if we just went out, we can have a good chance here," Team USA Head Coach Phill Drobnick said.
Duluthian Tyler George says although Canada is "world class," his team was ready for the challenge.
"We are not concerned who we are playing against, as much as if we are doing what we did today, we have a great chance of winning another one," George said.
Team USA will take on Switzerland Tuesday beginning at 5 a.m. central time.
