The American Birkebeiner Bridge is currently sitting in pieces in Hayward, but next week it will sit high over Main Street for the big event.
The bridge is sitting in pieces in a parking lot after making it back from its appearance in Minneapolis for the Super Bowl.
According to the Hayward Chamber of Commerce, it will be put together on Tuesday, and the snow will be placed over it on Wednesday.
"It's a heck of a spectacle," Hayward Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Chris Ruckdaschel said.
"You know the bridge was brought in a few years back, and that in itself, has really become an attraction. You know people love taking pictures by it, it obviously helps the traffic flow. It's been a wonderful addition, and it just adds to the spectacle of Birkie."
Activities for the big event get underway in Hayward next Thursday.
The American Birkebeiner is one of the longest cross-country ski races in North America, and brings thousands to Northwest Wisconsin.
