There still isn't enough ice thickness on Lake Superior to make the Apostle Islands ice caves accessible.
A picture from Apostle Islands National Lakeshore officials Sunday shows open water near some of the caves.
They say that means the area doesn't have reliable enough ice and that the wind has been moving it around.
Lighter winds and cold temperatures will be needed in the days ahead, in order for the caves to become accessible this season.
