Winter is a pretty big deal here in the Northland with many great ways to enjoy it, and Hartley Nature Center celebrates the season with a party.
The center is hosting it's 12th annual Candlelight Ski, Skate, and Snowshoe celebration Saturday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The event honors the cold weather season with a chance to enjoy all it gives including silent woods, groomed trails, iced ponds and snowshoe access to unique areas of the park.
Fun seekers have the chance to join naturalist-led hikes, ski a luminary-lined Hartley cross-country trail and a could try out fat tire biking or kick sledding.
The night will end with a light dinner from Black Woods Catering, ice skate on Hartley Pond, and Bent Paddle beer tasting and warm drinks and dessert in the yurt.
Because this event has gotten so popular and we have limited space, you are urged to pre-register if you want to attend.
You can sign up by stopping in at the Nature Center at 3001 Woodland Ave, or calling 724-6735 during business hours.
The event is free for Hartley member households, $10 for singles and $35 for non-member households.
