After years of planning and many millions in spending, there was one thing organizers of Super Bowl 52 couldn't control: a Minnesota winter.
Although the big game was played inside, fans were heading to U.S. Bank Stadium with temperatures below zero and a wind chill of -23 making it by far the coldest Super Bowl on record.
That raised questions about whether the NFL's marquee event would ever return to Minnesota.
As for next year's Super Bowl, time is ticking for The city of Atlanta, as they prepare to host Super Bowl 53.
The Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee received the ceremonial hand-off in Minneapolis Monday.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell passed off to Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms at the event.
Super Bowl 53 will take place at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on February 3, 2019.
It will be Atlanta's third time hosting the big game.
