Duluth is set to receive a small chunk of more than $18 million in state highway project funds.
According to MnDOT, in partnership with the State Department of Employment and Economic Development, Duluth is receiving $247,000 for work along Grand Avenue and Warwick Street.
Officials say the project includes the design and installation of a new traffic signal at the base of Spirit Mountain.
The City of Duluth and Saint Louis County have secured funding for the construction of a new street at the site, which will make it a four-way intersection.
The project's total cost is $354,000.
