An industrial park in Duluth's Irving neighborhood is getting a million-dollar boost from the state in the name of expansion.
The State Department of Employment and Economic Development has awarded a $1.1 million grant to assist with the extension of Waseca Industrial Park Road.
The project will replace a railroad crossing, and provide better access to Highway 23 for businesses in the park.
The project also re-routes trucks out of the neighborhood's residential area, which includes a school.
DEED officials say the project will create 351 jobs, and retain 269 jobs within five years.
The project's total cost is $2.28 million.
