PROCTOR, MN -

UPDATE: Firefighters say a wood stove is to blame, for an early morning house fire in Midway Township.

First responders rushed to the scene near the intersection of South Ugstad Road and Old Highway 61, just after 6:30.

Authorities say the house wasn't occupied at the time, and is in the middle of being remodeled.

The fire was contained to the garage and attic crawl space, which sustained significant damage.

Officials believe the wood stove was being used to heat the home during the remodeling project.

The investigation is ongoing.

Damage estimates are unknown at this time.
